Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative
Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative (LTVEC) is a public nonprofit agency formed by local school systems in East Tennessee. The agency is governed by a board of directors including member school system directors, school board members, and county commissioners. LTVEC promotes collaboration among member school systems to develop and provide needed educational services in the region as well as the state. The cooperative provides a variety of services to member and non-member school systems in East Tennessee and throughout the state.
LTVEC: Birth-to-Three is a nationally recognized program that provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers and education and support to their families through a contract with the Tennessee Department of Education as well as significant funding from local communities in East Tennessee.
Birth-toThree is a play based early learning center where infants and toddlers with and without disabilities can play and learn in a safe environment. The children come to our center once a week in groups of eight. The center maintains a ratio of 8 children with 3 adults, to address the individual needs of the children, thus enhancing the high quality program for all children in attendance. We currently serve 40 children in our Blount County center. In addition to serving our children, we also help equip parents by providing them with support and information specific to child development and various disabilities.
The mission of the LTVEC Birth-to-Three program is to support the growth and development of young children and their families so they can fully participate in their communities.
